Major General Julius Osifo assumes leadership of Nigeria's Military Pensions Board
Major General Julius Ehioze Osifo has officially assumed office as the Chairman of the Military Pensions Board (MPB) in Abuja, succeeding Air Vice Marshal Mikail Abdulraheem.
During the handing-over ceremony, Osifo pledged to reform the board to ensure the prompt, seamless, and less bureaucratic payment of pensions, gratuities, arrears, and death benefits. He emphasized that his administration would prioritize the welfare of retired and discharged personnel, as well as the next-of-kin of deceased service members.
To achieve these goals, Osifo identified several key strategies, including the deployment of modern technology, proactive identification of beneficiaries in collaboration with military services, and stronger stakeholder engagement. He also committed to enhancing the technical proficiency of the board through results-oriented training and upholding high ethical standards to ensure only rightful beneficiaries receive entitlements.
