Pakistani security forces kill militant mastermind Amir Muawiya and Major Hafiz Elahi

Pakistan’s security forces carried out a series of intelligence‑based operations against militants across the country. In North Waziristan’s Razmak area, Major Hafiz Ihsan Elahi, 34, was killed while leading troops in an encounter that eliminated five Indian‑sponsored militants. The operation recovered weapons and ammunition and is part of the ongoing “Azm‑e‑Istehkam” counter‑terrorism campaign.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district, security forces killed Amir Muawiya, identified as the mastermind behind the July 30 attack on the Khazana Banda police checkpost that left nine police officers dead and 28 injured. The raid in Chapri Naryab was described as a major blow to the outlawed Tehreek‑e‑Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Other recent actions include the killing of seven militants in an intelligence operation in Noshki, Balochistan, and the neutralisation of two suspects linked to the July 28 attack on Tehkal police station in Peshawar. These operations reflect an intensified effort by Pakistan’s army and police to dismantle militant networks and restore stability in the region.
