Major hotel renovations completed in Cancún

Two prominent resorts in Cancún have officially reopened following extensive renovations aimed at upgrading luxury accommodations and guest experiences.

Meliá Hotels International has completed a 50 million euro renovation of the Paradisus Cancún. The project included modernizing 773 luxury suites, meeting spaces, restaurants, and sports areas. The resort is introducing a 'Wellness Designed by Destination' philosophy, integrating Mayan and Mexican cultural experiences. The reopening has had a significant local economic impact, with over 63% of previous staff rehired and the creation of more than 650 indirect jobs.

Simultaneously, the Hyatt Zilara Cancún has reopened after a comprehensive transformation of its 310 luxury suites. The updates include contemporary designs inspired by the local environment, redesigned pool and beach areas, and new culinary concepts featuring Yucatecan and Italian cuisine. The property also introduced 'Bokeh', a speakeasy-style lounge, and a restructured Zen Spa, reinforcing its position in the exclusive all-inclusive adult segment.
