Major League Baseball sees shifts in broadcasting and AI usage

Major League Baseball is seeing shifts in both broadcasting and technology. Jack McMullen, currently the radio play-by-play announcer for the Miami Marlins, is expected to succeed Kyle Sielaff as the team’s lead television voice in 2027. McMullen is slated to work alongside Gaby Sanchez, who is positioned to become the primary television analyst.

In terms of on-field technology, Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy noted the increasing prevalence of artificial intelligence within the league. Muncy described how some teams utilize AI programs to analyze pitch mechanics, such as identifying differences in glove and hand positioning, which is increasingly being used by first and third base coaches.
