Major League Soccer adjusts Halloween schedule

Major League Soccer has modified its schedule for Halloween, moving most Saturday, October 31 fixtures to earlier kickoff times or Sunday to accommodate players, staff, and supporters.

The only match retaining the standard 7:30 p.m. local kickoff is the Colorado Rapids versus Chicago Fire game in Denver. Eight other Saturday matches will begin at either 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. local time, while six matches have been rescheduled for Sunday.

Ahead of the Rapids versus Chicago Fire matchup, Rapids coach Matt Wells discussed the challenge of facing star striker Robert Lewandowski. Wells noted that while his team has successfully neutralized top players like Lionel Messi in the past, stopping Lewandowski will be a significant tactical difficulty.
