Trendyol Süper Lig prepares for 69th season kickoff
The 69th season of the Trendyol Süper Lig is set to begin, featuring 18 teams from 13 provinces. The season kicks off with a match between Galatasaray and Çorum FK. The new campaign will consist of 306 matches over a 282-day period, with three teams facing relegation at the end of the season.
Major clubs have seen significant activity in the 2026 summer transfer window. Trabzonspor has made headlines with the signing of Mohamed Salah, while Fenerbahçe has added Romelu Lukaku to its squad. Beşiktaş has secured Dušan Vlahovic and Leandro Trossard. In contrast, Galatasaray has maintained a more conservative transfer policy, with Lesley Ugochukwu being their primary notable addition.
Financially, the ‘Big Four’ clubs (Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Trabzonspor) reported a combined revenue of 45.4 billion TL for the June 2025–May 2026 period. Galatasaray reported the highest individual revenue at 20.7 billion TL. However, the clubs also face significant debt, with total liabilities for the four major teams reaching 85 billion TL, equivalent to approximately 1.6 billion euros.
Regarding match operations, the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has announced the referee assignments for the opening week. Additionally, Trabzonspor faces an early setback as Ernest Muçi is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks due to a muscle injury.
