Major U.S. food recalls issued for glass contamination and bacteria

Several major food recalls have been issued in the United States as of August 19, 2026, involving contamination and bacterial risks.

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. has initiated a nationwide voluntary recall of select Outshine Fruit Bars due to reports of possible glass contamination. The recall affects various 6-count packs and 24-count variety packs in flavors including Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine, and Black Cherry. No illnesses have been reported.

Kettle Cuisine LLC recalled Marketside Tomato Bisque Soup Kits sold at select Walmart stores following a presumptive positive test for Listeria monocytogenes. The recall involves 3,240 14-ounce kits with a use-by date of August 22, 2026, distributed across states such as New York, New Jersey, Texas, Pennsylvania, and California.

Additionally, the FDA and CDC are investigating a multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to shell eggs recalled from Midwest Poultry.
