MAKADO theater festival returns for eleventh edition in Montenegro

The eleventh MAKADO manifestation of chamber dramatic works, organized by the KIC ‘Budo Tomović’, is set to showcase a diverse theatrical program. The festival features six genre-diverse plays from Montenegro and the surrounding region, including ‘Krevet od lišća’, ‘Zagonetne varijacije’, ‘Fetišist’, ‘Najbolji čovjek na svijetu’, ‘Džepovi puni kamenja’, and ‘Maske’.

The event aims to explore contemporary societal challenges and universal themes through comedic, satirical, tragicomic, and psychologically complex stage forms. The ‘Sat kula’ awards will be presented for best production, best male and female performances, and bravura.

A professional jury, led by Davor Dragojević and including Jelena Nenezić and Jelena Kontić Lakićević, will oversee the competition. The festival begins on November 2 with the play ‘Krevet od lišća’, directed by Sandra Vujović, followed by ‘Zagonetne varijacije’, directed by Janko Cekić.
