More than 33,000 visitors were recorded on the Makarska coast during the first weekend of July, according to local tourist offices. Hotels remain largely full, while apartments and holiday homes still have some availability. Road traffic on the D8 highway intensified, with longer queues near popular spots, though the fast‑road segment between Baško Polje and the Zagvozd highway entrance stayed clear. Ferry services on the Makarska‑Sumartin route operated at high capacity despite a recent gale, and the Drvenik‑Sučuraj line to Hvar reported no boarding delays.
