Makarska supporters raise funds for member fined after sea incident

The Društvo prijatelja Hajduka Makarska (DPH Makarska) organized a fundraising campaign to pay the fine for a 43-year-old member following an incident in Makarska. The individual was fined for violating laws regarding public order and peace after pushing a 49-year-old Serbian citizen into the sea on the Makarska Riva.

The altercation occurred in mid-September when the Serbian citizen refused to remove a t-shirt featuring the emblem of the Belgrade football club Crvena zvezda. While the Serbian citizen was not injured, the 43-year-old was facing a fine ranging from 700 to 4,000 euros or up to 30 days in prison. DPH Makarska reported on Facebook that the full amount for the fine and legal costs was raised within a few hours.

Police investigations into the Serbian citizen's social media activity revealed posts praising Ratko Mladić and insulting the Republic of Croatia, which resulted in a two-week detention in Split.
