Makassar City Government partners with BPS to enhance civil servant data skills

The Makassar City Government is collaborating with Statistics Indonesia (BPS) to enhance the capacity of civil servants (ASN) in reading, processing, and interpreting statistical data. This initiative aims to ensure that data is not merely collected as figures in planning documents but is translated into relevant information for development planning, program determination, and policy evaluation.

Following a meeting between Makassar Mayor Munafri Arifuddin and the Head of BPS RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, the local government emphasized that accurate and accountable data is essential for all development policies. The collaboration seeks to develop human resources through specialized training, enabling officials to understand the context behind statistics to better identify community issues and determine which sectors require urgent attention and improvement.
