Makassar City showcases Lontara+ digital ecosystem at JFCF 2026

Muhammad Roem, the Head of the Makassar City Communication and Information Office, presented the development of the city's digital ecosystem at the JAKI & Fellowship Cities Forum 2026. The presentation focused on the Lontara+ super app, a priority program launched by the Makassar City Government on July 27, 2025.

Prior to the launch of Lontara+, the city's digital services were fragmented across at least 358 separate applications managed by various regional government agencies. The super app aims to integrate these services into a single digital ecosystem to provide faster and more accessible public services.

On August 17, 2026, Lontara+ introduced three new features: population administration services, online land and building tax (PBB) payments, and 'Makassar Move,' a tool for tracking physical activity and reporting infrastructure issues.
