Makassar hosts VIII KORPRI National MTQ 2026

The VIII KORPRI National Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) 2026 has commenced in South Sulawesi, with Makassar and Pangkep serving as host locations. The event features 117 delegations, including 38 provinces, 77 ministries and agencies, and two state universities. A total of 1,173 participants and 465 officials are expected to attend.

To support the event, particularly the opening ceremonies and parades centered around the Karebosi Field area, the Makassar City Government has designated several parking zones. These include Jalan W. R. Supratman, Pasar Baru, and various areas near Karebosi and Jalan Wahidin Sudirohusodo.

The Makassar Transportation Agency (Dishub) has also implemented traffic engineering measures. Temporary road closures and diversions are scheduled between 15:00 and 18:00 WITA to accommodate changes in the parade route, which now moves from Fort Rotterdam toward Jalan Slamet Riyadi and the Taman Macan area. Affected routes include Jalan Hasanuddin, Jalan Pattimura, and Jalan Ahmad Yani.
