Makedonski Telekom launches national initiative against youth violence

Makedonski Telekom has launched a national initiative aimed at creating a safer environment for youth by combating violence and hate speech, both offline and in digital spaces. In partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science, the company is introducing the campaign ‘Break the Circle of Violence. Do Not Be an Audience.’

The initiative focuses on the role of bystanders—those who watch, comment, film, or share content—noting that such actions can unintentionally amplify violence. The campaign encourages young people, parents, and teachers to intervene rather than act as passive observers.

Alongside this, the Ministry of Education and Science is working to establish national standards for violence-free schools. These standards aim to create a unified framework and clear criteria for safe school environments, supported by training for teachers and student communities.
