Makedox festival opens 17th edition in Kuršumli An

The 17th edition of the Makedox creative documentary film festival opened on August 20 at the Kuršumli An venue. The event runs from August 20 to August 27 under the theme ‘Only a dream is reality’, a title taken from a book by the prominent film critic Ilindenka Petruševa.

During the opening, organizers Sara Ferro and Darko Nabokov addressed the audience, noting that the theme reflects the power of dreams to drive change and exploration. The film program commenced with the short film ‘Flowers Stand Silent, They Witness’ by Theo Panagopoulos and the feature documentary ‘To the West, in Zapata’ by David Bim, which depicts life in the Zapata swamps of Cuba.

The festival also includes musical segments, such as the ‘Night Tales’ project featuring Sasha Latuka and Emil Petro.
