Makedox Festival to feature 71 documentaries in 17th edition

The 17th Makedox Festival of Creative Documentary Film will take place from August 20 to 27 under the theme ‘Only a dream is reality’. The eight-day event will feature 71 films, including new documentaries, award-winning international titles, and works from young authors.

This year’s festival is dedicated to film criticism and the late Ilindenka Petruševa (1944–2025), a prominent film critic, researcher, and long-time advisor to the Macedonian Cinematheque. An evening dedicated to her work will be held on August 22.

The program includes over 100 international guests, masterclasses, workshops, and the two-day MakedCoProDox forum for regional project development. Spain is the featured country this year, with several Spanish feature-length and short documentaries included in the lineup.
