Maker Faire and Reuse festivals to showcase innovation in České Budějovice

The Maker Faire and Reuse festivals will take place on Saturday, October 3, at the National Pavilion Z in České Budějovice. These events, part of the program for České Budějovice as the European Capital of Culture 2028, aim to connect technology, creativity, and the circular economy.

Maker Faire will showcase various technological projects, including a space rover and a Formula Student racing car developed by students from the University of West Bohemia. Other exhibits include robotic football players, a robotic arm for heavy machinery control, and custom-built vehicles known as 'hoverkars' made from repurposed hoverboards and old bicycle parts.

The Reuse festival will focus on sustainability and repair, offering workshops on fixing clothing, repairing toys, and diagnosing household appliances. The event also features demonstrations of upcycling and the creative reuse of discarded materials to promote environmental consciousness.
