Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group arrives in Yokosuka

The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) have arrived at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka for maintenance and resupply. The group includes the USS Makin Island, USS Anchorage, and USS John P. Murtha, along with associated aviation, logistics, and ground combat elements.

The port visit is intended to leverage local facilities and strengthen relationships with the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The units are currently conducting routine operations within the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. This arrival follows the recent departure of the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group from the same base for Exercise Keen Sword 27.
