Makoto Shinkai marks 10th anniversary of ‘Your Name.’
Director Makoto Shinkai marked the 10th anniversary of his hit anime film, ‘Your Name.’, which originally premiered in Japanese theaters on August 26, 2016. To celebrate the milestone, Shinkai shared a conceptual illustration on social media that served as an early draft for a teaser poster from autumn 2015.
Shinkai expressed gratitude to fans, noting that he is happy the story continues to resonate with people. While he clarified that there are no specific large-scale anniversary events planned, he mentioned that his production team is currently working on a new, untitled film to present to audiences in the future.
