Maksym Khlan denies rumors of playing for Poland

Maksym Khlan, a 23-year-old winger for Górnik Zabrze, has addressed previous speculation regarding his potential eligibility to play for the Polish national team. Following his first senior call-up to the Ukraine national team, Khlan clarified that he never engaged in direct discussions with the Polish Football Association (PZPN) and never seriously considered changing his international allegiance.

The rumors originated in March following reports that the PZPN might be interested in naturalizing the player. While Khlan had previously stated in an interview with Goal.pl that he would consider a proposal from Poland if one were made, he now asserts that he always intended to fight for a place in the Ukrainian national team. He emphasized that he has no desire to play for Poland and remains committed to Ukraine.
