Makurazaki City launches cashless reward campaign

Makurazaki City in Kagoshima Prefecture has launched its sixth cashless payment campaign, running from September 1 to September 30, 2026. The initiative aims to support local businesses, such as restaurants and accommodation providers, facing the impact of rising prices.

Participants using eligible cashless services at participating stores can receive a reward of up to 20% of their payment amount. The reward is capped at 6,000 yen per transaction and a maximum of 12,000 yen per service throughout the campaign period. Eligible payment services include au PAY, d-barai, PayPay, Rakuten Pay, and Pay-don. The campaign is open to non-residents as well, intended to encourage tourism and regional consumption.
