Malaga advances two large housing schemes, totaling 2,847 and 108 homes in Churriana–Torremolinos and Ciudad Jardín

Malaga’s urban planners moved closer to construction on one of the city’s largest residential schemes, with 2,847 new homes planned along the corridor between Churriana and Torremolinos. The project signals a major expansion of housing in the metro area.

Separately, the Local Government Board of the Málaga City Council approved in principle a plan for Ciudad Jardín’s Marqués de la Paniega district to deliver 108 new homes, 35 of which will be protected (VPO). The move aims to address long-standing urban challenges in the area while integrating new housing into the neighborhood.

The Ciudad Jardín proposal is described as an effort to knit a degraded area back into its surroundings, tackling issues of poor accessibility and disconnection from nearby districts as part of broader urban renewal efforts in Málaga.
