Malaga CF boosts season ticket renewals as club returns to La Liga
Malaga CF has renewed enthusiasm after securing promotion to Spain's top flight for the first time in eight years. The club announced that 20,000 season tickets have been renewed ahead of the 2026‑27 campaign, representing roughly two‑thirds of La Rosaleda's 30,778 capacity.
A friendly match against English side Leicester City is scheduled for Saturday, 25 May, giving the newly promoted team a high‑profile test. While Leicester have recently dropped to England's third tier, the fixture highlights Malaga's ambition to compete with established clubs.
The club, together with the city council, the provincial authority and the Andalusian regional government, is also advancing plans for a new 55,000‑seat stadium projected to cost about €414 million and to be completed around 2032.
