Malaga port launches MSC Dragon line, boosting Asia‑US connectivity

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) began operating its Dragon service from the Port of Malaga in early July. The line makes Malaga the first European hub for MSC’s direct Far‑East service, linking major production centres in China and Singapore with southern Europe and providing a new export route to North America. The service is expected to cut transit times and strengthen the port’s competitive position in international trade.

Spanish shipbuilder Navantia reported a 11.5% reduction in greenhouse‑gas emission intensity for 2025 compared with 2024, lowering its metric to 6.69 tCO₂e per million euros of activity. The company also achieved an 83% waste‑valorisation rate, retained ISO 14001 certification across all sites, and advanced its “Carbon Blue” project in the Bay of Cádiz, which aims to capture more than 32,000 tonnes of CO₂ while restoring coastal ecosystems.
