Malaga residents seek aid after storm destroys home in El Palo

A young couple, Belén and Zamara, along with Zamara’s mother Rocío, are seeking financial assistance to rebuild their home in the El Palo district of Malaga following the destruction caused by Storm Adam.

The storm caused a wall to collapse, flooding the ground floor and destroying furniture, electrical appliances, clothing, and essential belongings. The residents have been forced to vacate the property, as it is currently uninhabitable due to debris, mud, and a lack of functional facilities.

While local neighbors and volunteers have provided significant manual labor to clear mud and rubble, the victims report receiving no financial assistance or coverage for reconstruction from the district or Malaga city councils. Because the property is not covered by home insurance, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched with an initial target of 20,000 euros to fund rubble removal, masonry work, and the replacement of essential household items.
