Spain reports multiple road accidents and criminal arrests
Several significant incidents have been reported across Spain involving road safety and criminal activity.
In Ausejo, a 37-year-old driver was arrested by the Guardia Civil following a head-on collision on the N-232 that left five people injured, including one in critical condition. The driver tested positive for alcohol at 0.60 mg/l, which is 2.4 times the legal limit.
A major collision between two trucks on the N-4 between Jerez and El Cuervo caused a complete road closure, forcing traffic to divert via the AP-4. One driver was trapped in the cab and required specialized rescue equipment to be extracted before being evacuated by helicopter to a hospital in Jerez.
In Malagón, authorities are searching for a driver who struck a prominent local businessman with a vehicle and fled the scene. The victim remains in serious condition in the intensive care unit of the Ciudad Real University General Hospital.
In Mallorca, the Guardia Civil arrested three French nationals for a violent robbery in Port d'Andratx. The group, described as an itinerant criminal gang, targeted tourists to steal luxury watches. The suspects had allegedly used false identities to evade detection during the incident.
