Malakai Black discusses scrapped WWE WrestleMania plans

Professional wrestler Malakai Black has reflected on his recent tenure with WWE, describing his year with the company as a “dud” that failed to meet the expectations set during initial discussions.

Black revealed that a planned storyline involving a match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania was scrapped. He also noted that a specific entrance prop—a smoking jacket—was originally intended for that WrestleMania appearance but was eventually debuted at PROGRESS Wrestling instead.

Following his release from WWE in April, Black credited Damian Priest for providing significant mental support. Black expressed frustration that despite working main event matches, the creative direction did not align with what had been promised to him prior to his return.
