Malang City authorities target illegal cigarette circulation

The Malang City Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) is conducting socialization efforts to curb the circulation of illegal cigarettes. This initiative involves educating market heads and traders on excise regulations, legal consequences, and how to identify illegal cigarette products and improper excise stamps.

Aryadi Wardoyo, Secretary of Satpol PP Malang City, stated that the program aims to increase public understanding and prevent the distribution of untaxed cigarettes, which impacts state revenue from taxes and excise. The effort involves collaboration with the Malang City Police, the Malang District Attorney's Office, and the Malang Customs Office. While the current focus is on education and prevention, authorities noted that legal enforcement will be pursued if violations continue.
