Malang City Government distributes social aid to elderly and disabled residents

The Malang City Government has implemented the ‘Ngalam Ngopeni’ program, distributing social assistance to vulnerable residents. Mayor Wahyu Hidayat delivered cash aid and medical equipment to 2,763 elderly citizens and people with disabilities across five districts.

The cash assistance, funded by the APBD, consists of a three-month lump sum totaling Rp 450,000 per person, covering the period from July to September 2026. Additionally, the government distributed 81 wheelchairs to support residents with disabilities.

In collaboration with BAZNAS Kota Malang, the city also provided Rp 266 million worth of rice and basic food supplies to students from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) studying in the Malang region. These funds were collected through voluntary donations from civil servants within the city government.
