Malang Police investigate alleged sexual violence at boarding school

A 14-year-old student in Bululawang, Malang Regency, has been reported to the Malang Police for alleged sexual violence. The victim is reported to have been abused by a caregiver at an Islamic boarding school (pesantren).

The legal organization Yakuza Maneges provided assistance to the minor during the reporting process at the Satyan Reserse Perlindungan Perempuan dan Anak (PPA) unit. The reported individual, identified by the initials MA, is a caregiver at the facility. The case is being investigated under the Sexual Violence Crimes Law (UU TPKS) and the Indonesian Criminal Code.
