Malang Sarr expected in Patrick Vieira's first Senegal squad

Defender Malang Sarr is expected to be included in the first squad selected by Senegal's new head coach, Patrick Vieira. The 27-year-old, who previously represented France at the U21 level, is set to make his debut for the Lions de la Teranga.

Sarr, who currently plays for Neom Sports Club in Saudi Arabia, is preparing for upcoming matches in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers. The squad is scheduled to face Mozambique on September 25, followed by Ethiopia on September 29. The international window will conclude with a friendly match against Comoros on October 4 at the Stade-Vélodrome in Marseille.

Vieira is expected to reveal his official player selections this Friday at the Léopold Sédar Senghor Stadium in Dakar.
