Malaria case reported at Lambayeque Regional Hospital

A 35-year-old man from the Reque district is hospitalized in the Special Care Unit of the Hospital Regional de Lambayeque after testing positive for malaria. The patient contracted the disease during a recent work trip to Cameroon.

His family members have raised concerns regarding medical negligence, alleging that the hospital experienced significant delays in obtaining the necessary medication to begin his treatment. They stated that despite positive test results, treatment did not start immediately due to a lack of medicine at the facility. While the patient is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be stable, his health has fluctuated during his hospitalization.
