Malatya Agriculture and Food Fair returns after seven-year hiatus

The 14th Malatya Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Fair is set to return to the Mişmişpark Fairground from September 30 to October 4. The event marks a return to programming after a seven-year hiatus caused by the pandemic and the February 6 earthquakes.

Approximately 100 companies have signed contracts to participate, with an expected total of 150 stands. The fair will showcase a wide range of sectors, including agricultural technologies, livestock equipment, seeds, irrigation systems, animal feed, and the food industry. Planned activities include drone demonstrations, smart irrigation applications, expert training sessions, and workshops such as mini field and seed planting. A “Little Farmers” area will also be available for children.

Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Sami Er noted that the fair contributes to the social normalization of the city as it recovers from the earthquake. He highlighted significant municipal investments in agriculture, stating that total investments have reached 2.359 billion TL. Completed works include over 60,000 meters of irrigation channels, 110 irrigation pools, and extensive roadwork to improve market access for producers.
