Malatya construction worker containers destroyed by fire

A fire broke out in worker containers located at a TOKİ reserve area construction site in the Ferhadiye neighborhood of the Battalgazi district in Malatya. The blaze, which started for unknown reasons during the afternoon, quickly spread from one container to others.

Firefighters responded to the scene and managed to bring the flames under control, preventing further spread to surrounding structures. While no injuries or fatalities were reported, several containers were rendered unusable, and some newly constructed houses in the area sustained damage due to the intense heat and flames.

Police cordoned off the area to manage crowds and ensure safety during the incident. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the fire, with authorities expected to examine electrical installations and heating equipment. This incident follows a similar fire that recently occurred at a construction site in the Çavuşoğlu neighborhood, raising concerns regarding safety protocols in worker housing areas during the ongoing reconstruction efforts in the region.
