Malatya dried apricot exports exceed $46 million

Malatya has achieved over $46 million in dried apricot exports during the August and September period of the 2026 season. According to Ramazan Özcan, President of the Malatya Commodity Exchange, a total of 10,300 tons of dried apricots were exported during these two months.

In August, 3,500 tons were exported, generating more than $25 million in revenue. This was followed by 6,800 tons in September. Özcan noted that while climate conditions caused initial delays and strict sulfur residue standards impacted the process, unit prices and export averages have significantly improved.

Following yield losses in 2025, the sector is working to maintain exports using remaining stock. Officials expect export activity to increase further in October, with expectations for strong figures through the end of the year.
