Malatya expands industrial production and agricultural output

Malatya is seeing developments in both its industrial and agricultural sectors. AK Party MP İnanç Siraç Kara Ölmeztoprak recently visited the Malatya 1st Organized Industrial Zone to inspect production, employment, and export capacities. During his visits to companies such as Magna Endüstriyel Tesisat, he emphasized the importance of high value-added products and local capital, noting that the firm produces 4,000 tons annually and employs 90 people. Ölmeztoprak also highlighted investments in agriculture-based industries, specifically mentioning the processing of products like apricots.

In the Yazıhan district, a sunflower harvest program was held for confectionery sunflowers. Approximately 166 farmers are producing sunflowers across 7,749 decares of land. Local officials, including Yazıhan District Governor Abdullah Emre Özefe and Malatya Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Osman Akar, noted that the Yazıhan Plain has transitioned to irrigated agriculture following the activation of the Boztepe Recai Kutan Dam. Officials emphasized the importance of modern production methods and supporting farmers to enhance the region's economic potential.
