Malatya hosts antique market and book fair to boost cultural life

Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, in collaboration with the Antique Dealers Association, has opened the Malatya Antique Market at the Art Center foyer. The market features a variety of historical items, including pocket watches, gramophones, records, vintage cameras, radios, paintings, and classic automobiles. Mayor Sami Er announced plans to establish a dedicated Antique Dealers Bazaar to preserve antiquarian culture, providing space for booksellers, traditional artisans, and women selling handmade products.

In addition to the market, the 12th Malatya Book Fair is underway, bringing authors and readers together. Honor guest Beşir Ayvazoğlu noted the city's significant recovery and reconstruction efforts following recent earthquakes, praising the high level of public interest in the fair. Local observers highlighted the fair as a symbol of the city's resilience and its transition into a new phase of social and cultural development.
