Malatya hosts international medical congresses and cultural tours

International academics from South Korea and Kenya visited Malatya, Turkey, to participate in several medical events held between September 9 and 12, 2026. The gatherings included the 14th National Congress of Gastroenterological Surgery, the 3rd National Liver Transplantation Congress, and the iLDLT Colloquium 2026.

Following the scientific programs, the visiting scholars participated in a cultural tour to explore the region's historical and touristic landmarks. The itinerary included a visit to the Arslantepe Mound, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where participants learned about the area's millennia-old history. The group also visited Art Street to observe local social life and culture.

A highlight of the program was a visit to Nemrut Mountain. The scholars examined the ancient ruins and monumental statues at the summit and observed the sunset over the landscape.
