Malatya to host second Turkey Culture Road Festival in August
Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced that Malatya will hold the second edition of the Turkey Culture Road Festival from 8 to 16 August 2026. The programme spans concerts, exhibitions, children’s activities, traditional‑art workshops and a gastronomy trail featuring 31 local “Taste Points”. UNESCO‑listed Arslantepe mound is highlighted as a key historic site. Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said the festival supports the city’s recovery after the February 6, 2023 earthquakes and aims to raise Malatya’s national and international profile.
Free open‑air concerts at the 100‑Year City Park will showcase Turkish artists such as Hakan Altun, Simge, Kıraç, Serkan Kaya, Derya Uluğ, Ceza, Oğuzhan Koç, Sefo and Ferhat Göçer, alongside a military band performance. Additional events include theatre productions, photo‑marathons, “Living Heritage” talks and hands‑on workshops in pottery, embroidery and wood‑carving. The gastronomy programme is hosted by chef Ömür Akkor with guest chefs and food writers presenting regional dishes.
