Malatya man arrested for attempting to kill relative with truck

In Malatya, Turkey, İbrahim Kazıcı has been arrested for attempted murder after striking a relative, Reşit Kazıcı, with a truck. The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 2, at the Özsan Industrial Site in the Yeşilyurt district.

İbrahim Kazıcı reportedly targeted Reşit Kazıcı, whom he holds responsible for the deaths of his father, Abdullah Kazıcı, and his brother, Infantry Lieutenant Aydın Kazıcı, in a 2024 shooting. Reşit Kazıcı was transported to Malatya Training and Research Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The conflict stems from a June 2024 incident in the Battalgazi district, where a relative previously convicted of the double homicide was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment and life imprisonment, respectively. Following his arrest, İbrahim Kazıcı was remanded to prison by a judge on charges of attempted murder.
