Malatya Mayor Sami Er Launches Irrigation Projects in Pütürge

Mayor Sami Er of Malatya Metropolitan Municipality toured the Pütürge district, meeting with local mayor Mikail Sülük, business owners and residents. He highlighted ongoing road works at 95 sites, the installation of 250 km of irrigation pipelines, and the deployment of mobile concrete‑mixing units to speed up construction in the mountainous area.

The mayor also officiated the opening of a new irrigation pool in Meşedibi neighbourhood, part of a broader “Agricultural Irrigation Pool Campaign”. The project aims to complete 57 pools in Pütürge’s 48 neighbourhoods and 207 pools across Malatya, ultimately delivering reliable water to roughly 80 000 decares of farmland and converting open canals to closed‑system networks.
