Malatya Pregnancy School provides childbirth education

The Malatya Provincial Directorate of Health is conducting 'Gebe Okulu' (Pregnancy School) training sessions within its Healthy Life Centers. These programs provide practical, one-on-one education designed to prepare expectant mothers for the pregnancy and childbirth process. The primary goals are to address information gaps, reduce anxiety regarding labor, and promote conscious pregnancy management.

Participants have reported significant benefits from the training. Sümeyye Çavuş, a mother who manages diabetes, noted that the support from midwives and doctors gave her the confidence to achieve two natural births despite her condition. She emphasized that while fears often increase as birth approaches, access to correct information and professional support helps women prepare more comfortably.

Volkan Çavuş, a father participating in the program, highlighted that the education covers not only the moment of birth but also the postpartum period. He noted that the guidance helped the couple understand the risks associated with cesarean sections compared to the faster recovery times observed with natural births, while also fostering the immediate bond between mother and infant.
