Malawi coach announces 31-player squad for AFCON qualifiers

Malawi national football team head coach Kalisto Pasuwa has announced a 31-member provisional squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The squad includes 19 foreign-based players and 12 local players.

Among the new additions to the team are Blessings Kanowa (Japan), Jorden Kamanga (Mexico), Shaquille Gwengwe (Wales), Adiel Kaduya (USA), Peter Ng’ambi, and Ajussa Kalowa. Pasuwa stated that selection was based on current form, professional discipline, and playing time, noting that the technical team monitored players at their respective clubs.

The Flames are scheduled to host South Sudan on September 23 or 25, followed by a match against Angola on October 5 or 6.
