Malawi High Court to Hear Sylvester Namiwa Treason Charge

Sylvester Namiwa, executive director of the Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI), has been charged with treason and publication of false news likely to cause fear and alarm. The Chief Resident Magistrate in Lilongwe committed the case to the High Court, where Namiwa is expected to seek bail.
