Malawi names provisional U-20 squad for COSAFA qualifiers

Malawi Under-20 Men’s National Football Team head coach Enos Chatama has announced a 32-member provisional squad for the upcoming CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations COSAFA Qualifiers. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Mozambique from September 18 to 27.

Malawi has been placed in Group C, where they are set to compete against Zambia, Comoros, and Botswana. The results of these regional qualifiers will determine which teams advance to represent the region at the continental finals. Chatama’s squad includes 10 returning players from the previous COSAFA Under-20 Championship held in Namibia.

The COSAFA Under-20 Championship serves as a significant developmental platform for Southern African football, historically producing players who have competed in the FIFA World Cup and major European leagues.
