Malawi Police delegation attends 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly

Inspector General of Police Richard Chakupaleza Chikoko Luhanga led a Malawi Police Service delegation to the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly in Marrakech, Morocco. The gathering focused on strengthening international cooperation to combat transnational crimes.

During the assembly, Lucas Philippe of France was elected as the new INTERPOL President. On the sidelines, IGP Luhanga, acting as Chairperson of the Southern Africa Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (SARPCCO), held a strategic meeting with regional police chiefs and the Director of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security.

Luhanga reaffirmed SARPCCO’s commitment to dismantling cross-border criminal networks and announced Malawi’s readiness to host the upcoming SADC/SARPCCO Annual General Meeting and Technical Organs.
