Malaysia advances AI use in music and state development

Renowned Malaysian singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza said AI should be celebrated as a tool but not replace human creativity when discussing its role in music production at a media briefing for teen singer Odda’s new song. She warned over‑reliance on AI could limit creativity and urged artists to use it only as an aid, adding she will begin intensive rehearsals for her upcoming Gema Bumantara concert.

In Sarawak, Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi called for a strategic partnership among government, industry, academia and international partners to boost artificial intelligence, satellite communications and digital technologies. He announced plans for a dedicated space agency, emphasized ethical AI governance and highlighted AI’s potential to transform utilities, smart cities and cybersecurity.

Both remarks reflect Malaysia’s broader push to integrate AI across cultural and economic sectors while stressing responsible use.
