Malaysia Airlines unveils Mumbai Indians-themed aircraft
Malaysia Airlines has unveiled a specially designed Airbus A330-300 aircraft featuring a livery dedicated to the Mumbai Indians cricket franchise. The design integrates the airline’s signature blue with the team’s blue and gold colors, incorporating the Mumbai Indians emblem and a Chakra motif to symbolize momentum and movement.
The themed aircraft recently arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. This collaboration marks the second time an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise has partnered with an airline for a custom livery, following Chennai Super Kings.
According to Bryan Foong, CEO of Malaysia Aviation Group’s airline business, the partnership aims to deepen engagement in India, which remains a key growth market for the airline. The initiative is intended to boost inbound travel and supports broader goals such as the Visit Malaysia 2026 program. The aircraft is scheduled to operate on major routes connecting India, Asia, and other international destinations later this year.
