Malaysia Aviation Group receives AAAIS credit rating

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has secured its inaugural credit ratings from MARC Ratings, receiving the highest possible marks of MARC-1IS and AAAIS for its proposed Islamic Commercial Papers and Islamic Medium-Term Notes Programmes.

The ratings reflect the group’s operational performance, financial discipline, and progress under its Long-Term Business Plan 3.0 (LTBP3.0). MAG stated that the assessment underscores confidence in the group’s long-term prospects, supported by its strategic alignment with majority shareholder Khazanah Nasional Berhad.

To support its next phase of business transformation, MAG is evaluating various financing options, including a proposed Sukuk Programme. These funds are intended to support strategic projects such as fleet modernisation, flight network expansion, and the development of new infrastructure, including catering facilities and enhanced maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities.
