Malaysia bans Robert Pattinson film ‘Primetime’

The psychological thriller film ‘Primetime’, starring and produced by Robert Pattinson, has been banned from theatrical release in Malaysia. Local distributor Antenna Entertainment confirmed the cancellation, stating that the Malaysian Film Censorship Board (LPF) prohibited the film’s release.

While the specific reasons for the ban have not been disclosed by the LPF or the distributor, the film was originally scheduled for release on October 1, before being postponed to October 8. The production, released by A24, follows a dramatized account of a television host involved in a reality program aimed at exposing individuals suspected of predatory behavior.

Antenna Entertainment and Golden Screen Cinemas have both confirmed the decision, with the distributor issuing an apology to the public for the disappointment caused by the sudden change in plans.
